There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

For more information about how to recognize spam calls, please reference the IRS site about recognizing these imposter calls: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/how-to-know-its-really-the-irs-calling-or-knocking-on-your-door-0

SCSEP Releases Interim Final Rule

On December 1, 2017 the Department of Labor published in the Federal Register the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) Interim Final Rule (IFR) to comply with the Older Americans Act Reauthorization Act of 2016 (OAA). The IFR and the Reauthorization amended the measures of performance for the SCSEP primarily to align them with the performance measures mandated for programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, with some limited distinctions where SCSEP-specific measures were maintained.

ETA is accepting public comments on the IFR. Comments can be submitted comments online using the Federal eRulemaking Portal or in writing by mail, hand delivery, or courier to Adele Gagliardi, Employment and Training Administration, U.S. Department of Labor, Room N-5641, 200 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20210.

All comments should include Regulatory Identification Number 1205-AB79. The comment period will close on January 30, 2018, 60 days after the date of publication. Any comments not received through the processes outlined in the IFR will not be considered by the Department.
