There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

To honor those who have served, the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration highlights its services to Veterans in Program Year (PY) 2013, which runs from July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2014. In PY 2013, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) programs served a total of 455,644 Veterans and the Wagner-Peyser (W-P) program served a total of 1,175,655 Veterans. The outcomes for Veterans served by WIA were as follows: 56.9% employment rate, 80.8% retention rate, with six months' average earnings at $15,834. Similarly, the outcomes for Veterans served by W-P were: employment rate of 52.9%, retention rate of 81.0%, and six months' average earnings of $17,236. There was an increase in the percentage of female Veterans served by W-P each cumulative four quarters over the course of the year: quarter one, 14.3%; quarter two, 14.4%; quarter three, 14.5%; and quarter four, 14.9%.
