There have been reports of phone calls made from a Department of Labor phone number (202-693-2700) soliciting personal information and/or promising funds to those receiving the calls. These calls were not authorized by the Department of Labor. ETA and the Department of Labor do not and will not solicit Personally Identifiable Information, such as your Social Security number, or other personal information, over the phone. If you receive a call like this from a number that looks like an ETA phone number, consider it a spam call, hang up, and report the call to the US Department of Labor at 1-855-522-6748.

Post 9/11 Era Veterans Receiving Services In The Wagner-Peyser Employment Service

In honor of Veterans Day 2013 ETA highlights the Veteran participants served by ETA programs. Over 1.6 million veterans were served from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013 across the various ETA programs. Additionally ETA shows the Employment Rate for Veterans in the Wagner-Peyser Employment Service was 50.0%; the Employment Rate for Veterans in the WIA Adult program was 56.5 % and the Employment Rate for Veterans in the WIA Dislocated Worker program was 56.6 %. Finally the Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) has reported as of November 7, 2013 that a total of 143,139 applications have been received, of those 126,441 applications have been approved and currently there are 71,995 Veterans in training under the VRAP program.
