Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) Outcomes in Program Year (PY) 2015

Over 2.3 million women received services through Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth programs from PY 2013 to PY 2015. In PY 2013, 59.6% of adults and 58.7% of dislocated workers entered employment, while 66.6% of WIA youth exiters who were women were placed in employment or education. In PY 2014, 62.5% of adults and 62.0% of dislocated workers who were women entered employment and 68.9% of youth who were women were placed in employment or education. Lastly, in PY 2015, 70.9% of WIA youth exiters who were women were placed in employment or education, while 65.9% of adults and 68.0% of dislocated workers entered employment. The total exiters for PY 2013 was nearly 900,000 women. In PY 2014, over 780,000 women completed the program (exited), and in PY 2015, nearly 700,000 women exited across programs. Of the over 2.3 million women who exited from WIA programs during the three-year period, over 1.5 million women found employment or were placed in employment or education after completing program services.

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth programs entered employment outcomes for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders demonstrated increases from PY 2013 to PY 2015. The WIA Adult program entered employment rate was 58.8% in PY 2013; 61.7% in PY 2014; and 64.0% in PY 2015. The WIA Dislocated Worker program's entered employment rate was reported at 50.7% in PY 2013; 57.6% in PY 2014; and 63.6% in PY 2015. Additionally, the WIA Youth program placement in employment or education rate fluctuated over the three years but was also notably higher than the other outcomes at 71.8% in PY 2013; 76.4% in PY 2014; and then a small decline to 74.0% in PY 2015.

The credential attainment rate for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for the WIA Adult program fluctuated over the three year period, while the WIA Dislocated Worker program showed steady growth. For the WIA Adult program, the credential attainment rate was 61.9% in PY 2013; 56.7% in PY 2014; and 65.0% in PY 2015. For the WIA Dislocated worker program, the credential attainment rate was 57.3% in PY 2013; 62.7% in PY 2014; and 67.9% in PY 2015.
