Asian Pacific Americans Served by the Workforce System

Over 920,000 Asian Pacific Americans were served by the workforce system in the four quarters ending December 31, 2008. The highest number was 421,196 in the Unemployment Insurance program, the next highest was 395,450 in the Wagner-Peyser program. Next in magnitude was the Workforce Investment Act Adult program, which served 60,365, and the Workforce Investment Act Dislocated Worker program served 16,236 during this period. Registered Apprenticeship served 15,153 Asian Pacific Americans, and the Workforce Investment Act Youth program served 5,105. The Senior Community Service Employment Program served 3,501 Asian Pacific Americans during this period, and Community-Based Job Training Grants served 1,902. Trade Adjustment Assistance served 1,077 during the four quarters ending December 31, 2008. There were 169 Asian Pacific Americans served by the Prisoner Reentry Initiative in this period, and 123 served by the National Farmworker Jobs program.
The YouthBuild program served 115 Asian Pacific Americans in the four quarters ending December 31, 2008.
